Frontdesk Anywhere alternative for independent hotels, inns and motels
Innkeeper is a Frontdesk Anywhere alternative for independent US hotels, inns, motels and B&Bs with 4 to 80 rooms. Mews bought Frontdesk Anywhere in January 2024 and the frontdeskanywhere.com domain now redirects to Mews, so owners still on the old system are choosing between a Mews quote and a different PMS. Innkeeper puts the tape chart, channel manager, commission-free booking engine, housekeeping and invoices in one plan at $49 a month up to 10 rooms or $149 up to 30 rooms, or $288 and $888 billed yearly, with every limit on the pricing page. Innkeeper (innkeeper.ai) is a separate company and is not affiliated with Frontdesk Anywhere or Mews.
Run your busiest night in the demo before the next contract talk
Open the live demo and do what your desk did on Frontdesk Anywhere. Book a walk-in on the tape chart, move a stay to another room, take a group of four rooms on one folio, let a Booking.com reservation arrive and watch the night close on Expedia and your own website. Then print the invoice. If that routine feels right, the rest of the move is data and channels.
- Tape chart with drag and drop between rooms and dates
- Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and Google on one calendar
- Group stays, guest profiles and a folio for every stay
Innkeeper vs Frontdesk Anywhere and Mews at a glance
Frontdesk Anywhere is a cloud PMS for independent hotels, founded in San Francisco in 2009. Mews acquired it through Mews Ventures in January 2024, and when we checked in October 2026 the frontdeskanywhere.com domain returned a permanent redirect to mews.com. A third-party software listing reports that Frontdesk Anywhere support ended on December 31, 2025, with customers pointed to Mews. The middle column uses the old Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice listings, the right column uses figures reported for Mews, so confirm your own contract before you decide.

Why Frontdesk Anywhere hotels look at other systems now
Frontdesk Anywhere had a loyal base of small and mid-size independent hotels, and many of them are happy to follow it into Mews. Others use the forced decision to shop around, usually for one of four reasons.
The bill changes shape after the move
Frontdesk Anywhere was listed from $100 a month, and third-party listings put its plans at $1,200 to $1,800 a year. Mews prices per room, and reports put a 12-room property at about $300 a month before payments and add-ons. At 12 rooms Innkeeper costs $888 a year billed yearly, which is closer to what a small property paid before the acquisition.
A migration is a migration either way
Moving to Mews is not an update inside the same product. Rooms, rates, channel mappings, guest history and staff routines all get rebuilt in a new system. Once the work is the same, it makes sense to compare more than one destination before you sign.
You want to read the price before the sales call
Innkeeper publishes staff users, channel counts, night audit, deposits, AI reply drafts and every other feature per plan. You can create an account, import your reservations and test the channels before you talk to anyone.
You do not want a two-year term
A two-year commitment is reported for Mews contracts. Innkeeper bills monthly or yearly, and you can leave at the end of the period you paid for.
Where Mews is the better pick
Be fair about it. Mews has a much larger integration marketplace, a point of sale, kiosks, a revenue management add-on and a team that runs hotels well past 200 rooms. If you run a large hotel, several brands, or a restaurant and spa on the same folio, Mews covers more than we do, and its free migration offer for Frontdesk Anywhere customers, if one still applies to you, lowers the switching cost. Above 80 rooms on one property, Innkeeper is not the right system.
How to move from Frontdesk Anywhere to Innkeeper
-
01
Get your data out
Export future reservations, guest and company profiles and rate history as spreadsheets while you still have access, or ask Mews support for the files in writing. Save the last night audit and folio reports as PDF for your records.
-
02
Import and check
Upload the files to Innkeeper. Future stays land on the tape chart with guest, dates, room and total, and guest profiles keep their history. On Boutique we run the import with you in an onboarding session.
-
03
Connect channels and your website
Connect Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb and Google in Innkeeper and place our booking engine on your website where the old Book now button sat. Compare availability for the next 90 nights side by side.
-
04
Switch over
Move the OTAs to Innkeeper one at a time, confirm each is live, then close the old account and the card processing agreement that came with it. Keep your old reports until your accountant has closed the year.
Who should pick Innkeeper, and who should go to Mews
Innkeeper fits owner-run inns, motels, B&Bs and small hotels up to 80 rooms that sell on two or more OTAs, want one fixed price and do not need a point of sale or a large app marketplace. Our pages on small hotel management software, motel management software and inn management software show the daily routine for each type of property, and the channel manager software page shows how a double booking is stopped.
Go to Mews if you run more than 80 rooms on one property, need restaurant, spa or kiosk check-in on the same system, or want the vendor that already holds your Frontdesk Anywhere data to run the migration.
Frontdesk Anywhere alternative questions
What is the best alternative to Frontdesk Anywhere?
For an independent hotel, inn or motel up to 80 rooms, the best Frontdesk Anywhere alternative is a cloud PMS with the channel manager and commission-free booking engine inside a published plan. Innkeeper does this from $288 a year for up to 10 rooms. Mews, Cloudbeds, WebRezPro and RoomMaster are other systems Frontdesk Anywhere hotels compare.
Is Frontdesk Anywhere still available?
Frontdesk Anywhere is now part of Mews. Mews acquired it in January 2024, the frontdeskanywhere.com domain redirects to mews.com, and a third-party listing reports that support ended on December 31, 2025. New hotels cannot buy it as a separate product, so ask Mews in writing what your current contract still covers.
Did Mews buy Frontdesk Anywhere?
Yes. Mews acquired Frontdesk Anywhere through Mews Ventures in January 2024, with the CEO and team staying on. Mews said it expected a smooth transition for Frontdesk Anywhere customers, and the product's customers are now pointed to the Mews platform rather than a new version of Frontdesk Anywhere.
How much did Frontdesk Anywhere cost?
Frontdesk Anywhere never published a price list. Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice listed it from $100 a month with a free trial, packages were quoted by a consultant, and SoftwareSuggest listed plans at $1,200 and $1,800 a year. The final price depended on rooms, integrations and location.
Is Mews more expensive than Frontdesk Anywhere?
For most small properties, yes. Mews prices per room, and reports put a 12-room hotel at about $300 a month before card processing and add-ons, against a Frontdesk Anywhere listing from $100 a month. Larger hotels get more modules from Mews, so compare the full quote, not the headline.
Can I move my reservations from Frontdesk Anywhere to Innkeeper?
Yes. Export future reservations and guest profiles as spreadsheets, or request the files from Mews support, then upload them to Innkeeper, where stays land on the tape chart with guest, dates, room and total. Keep the old channel connections live until each OTA is confirmed in Innkeeper.
